My right hand seat slides back and forth and does not lock into the
desired postion. It appears that the cynlider retracts but will not
come back out to engage the seat. When the switch is pushed does the
air push the cylinder in? and when the switch is released the rod
should come back out by spring pressure?. I see two "o" rings, other
than that I don't see much to go wrong. Ant thoughts??
Thanks for all your help.

Are you saying that it powers to the front and rear, or are we
talking rotating it to face the rear?

I had a 83 FC35SB, and the front to rear was electric motor, turning
to face the rear was a spring loaded release handle (no air involved).

I beleive it originally had air for the back (lumbar support).
If your is the same, the handle moves a locking mechanism in and out,
it likely needs cleaning or has a broken spring. You should be able
to lay on the floor, look underneath, and operate the controls to see
what is happening (if it is the same as the 83 FC that I had.)

I think he's saying the side to side motion cannot be stopped. The cylinder is
not
clamping down the mechanism when the seat needs to be fixed in position and it
continues to slide side to side.

Everything works except it slides from side to side not locking.I think the
cylinder is air disenged and spring engaged I didn't know it was suposed to
rotate complely around to face the rear , it hits the dog house, Should it
rotate completly?

You guys are a weath of information, thanks for sharing it.
