Good morning everyone:
Taking a moment to ponder on some things as I watch the sun rise in this
brisk invigorating morning. And there is much to be thankful for, in life
and on this Forum.
We have seen the population on the Wanderlodge Forum grow this year, and
the helping hands reach out with advice to those looking for a Bird, then
follow up after they have found one. The technical advances many have made
in understanding the systems and how to read the tracks on paper we call
schematics. We have seen Ft. Valley change hands on several occasions, but
it is still there.
We have seen several who have up graded to a newer Bird and, alas, some
that have come off the road after a final trip. We have had friends pass,
not to be forgotten, children born and reports of more and more of the
Ladies taking the wheel, (way to go Girls!) And the Ladies have even opened
up a Women's Birder Forum to keep in contact.
Yes, there is much to be thankful for this past year, and more to come.
There has been spirited debates, of which, for the most part, has increased

tolerated and the Owner and Moderators have ferreted things out to help
make this Forum a safe haven for the process of passing on worthy

Forums closer together one day, instead of having to cross post, but it is

privilege of performing service work on their Coaches this past year and
the year before that.
More and more gatherings of Birds from East to West, and much was pioneered
by the Lone Star Bird's showing the way. The Rally after RIV has grown from
the first one held, to wind down from the hustle bustle of the week before.
Yep, life is good and only getting better. As I finish this cup of coffee
this morning, a smile comes to my lips with the thought of how far we have
come together and thoughts of how far we will go this next year.

Either way, I am very happy to belong to this great Forum! You all
are great people with helping spirits...Tom, Jeff, Ralph, Harv,
Ernie, Mike(pictures), Ron and so many others..sorry I am old and
can't remember all of you, but I am happy you all participate.
It is 7 a.m. Sunday here in Melbourne, Australia, beautiful morning,
just ate two oranges off our tree in the yard and I am about to have
coffee. At midnight last night, I got within two players of the
final table in a big tourney...I am imptoving!!! Two American pro's
blew out of the tourney BEFORE me! I am hoping for a big win in
the "Aussie Millions" starting 6 January so I can ship
my "creampuff" 1980FC31 over to Australia instead of selling it at
Quartsite, AZ at the end of January...We all have a
dream...The "struggle" is the FUN part of life!! Happiness, love
and peace to all of you, even to BrandX forum executives!! LOL

Hank, can I get a bit of information?? I am thinking about comming "down under"
in April or May. I know the dollar has an exchage advantage; what I don't know
is, does that translate to a price advantage. Since you visit both places, can
you give me short opinion. Motels and meals, about same as here or + - giving
credit to the exchange advantage. Tried to do Australia once, but Faye sprained
her ankle and we abandoned the project after 7 days.

final table in a big tourney...I am imptoving!!! Two American pro's
blew out of the tourney BEFORE me! I am hoping for a big win in
the "Aussie Millions" starting 6 January so I can ship
my "creampuff" 1980FC31 over to Australia instead of selling it at
Quartsite, AZ at the end of January...We all have a
dream...The "struggle" is the FUN part of life!! Happiness, love

Toyota is on LPG at aus$.39 per liter..much cheaper..probably half

more "afraid" of LPG. I get 30mpg on LPG on my Toyota...
In the last five years prices on everything has skyrocketed; house,
food, everything...
Every town has aelectric barbeque for free..eg..just buy a steak at

We live in a small town East of Melbourne..NEVER seen a HOMELESS
person since I been comming here for eight years! In fact, I can't
recall seeing a homeless person in Melbourne!
In my home in Hawaii, there are over 1200 living on the beach West
of Honolulu.
Motels in Australia cost about $60 U.S. dollars...they have fridge,
coffee and tea, toaster and kettle.
One can rent a motorhome at $110 a day..kind of dear....
Plenty of motorhomes for sale in our campervan CMCA.com.au
magazine....Australia is a beautiful country worth driving
around...same size as USA but only 20 million people....Everyone is
friendly and like YANKs except at the poker table!
We will be here until "Aussie millions" ends on 20 January.
Any Forum member (brand X forum excluded)wanting to come down can
stay at our house free for a week or so before then. We have a small
simple house East of Melbourne in a small town of about 4000 people.

To wrap up, Australia is beautiful, clean, nice, friendly people
with a couple real bakeries in each town, butchers, like the old
days, high gasoline prices and ever changing weather...we love it

kind offer and we will be working on decision about traveling there. We would
come in either April or May which I gather is shoulder season. We will be
spending Jan & Feb. on South Padre Island,.Texas in the hopes it will be warmer

I'll make a few general comments to all about Australia;
Exchange rate..Aussie dollar $.78 today.
Macdonalds Hamburger..aus$1.50..Cheesburger aus$1.95.
Petro(gasoline)Aus$1.20 per liter..about Aus$4.00 gallon or about
$3.20 U.S. per gallon..YES gasoline is still much higher here!! My
Toyota is on LPG at aus$.39 per liter..much cheaper..probably half
of Aussie cars have been converted to LPG...just pull up to the pump
and fill up with LPG...nothing to it but it seems we in the USA are
more "afraid" of LPG. I get 30mpg on LPG on my Toyota...
In the last five years prices on everything has skyrocketed; house,
food, everything...
Every town has aelectric barbeque for free..eg..just buy a steak at
$25.00 per kilo for eye filet and take it to the park and cook it!
We live in a small town East of Melbourne..NEVER seen a HOMELESS
person since I been comming here for eight years! In fact, I can't
recall seeing a homeless person in Melbourne!
In my home in Hawaii, there are over 1200 living on the beach West
of Honolulu.
Motels in Australia cost about $60 U.S. dollars...they have fridge,
coffee and tea, toaster and kettle.
One can rent a motorhome at $110 a day..kind of dear....
Plenty of motorhomes for sale in our campervan CMCA.com.au
magazine....Australia is a beautiful country worth driving
around...same size as USA but only 20 million people....Everyone is
friendly and like YANKs except at the poker table!
We will be here until "Aussie millions" ends on 20 January.
Any Forum member (brand X forum excluded)wanting to come down can
stay at our house free for a week or so before then. We have a small
simple house East of Melbourne in a small town of about 4000 people.
Send us a private email for details etc.
To wrap up, Australia is beautiful, clean, nice, friendly people
with a couple real bakeries in each town, butchers, like the old
days, high gasoline prices and ever changing weather...we love it
here!!!
I spend about the same money here as in the USA! A bit cheaper so I
guess we buy more!!
