There was some talk a while ago about doing a Blue Bird rally at the
EAA convention in Oshkosh in 2007. Any one know if that is still on?
I'm making vacations plans now for next summer and trying to figure out
if I can make it to this. Thanks.

Don't forget to join EAA or you can't camp on site.

It's on as far as I know Phil. Stephen Birtles is the unofficial Wagon
master I think. He should chime in here soon.

the EAA is the Experimental Aircraft Association
the sanctioning body for Oshkosh
if you go to http://www.eaa.org
it will give you the history of the organization plus a thorough
history of the oshkosh air shows
It is a very comprehensive site and some of the advertisers you will
definitley recognize
it is much the same as the FMCA only for flight but saying that some
will disagree
With your memebership you also receive a subscription to a really good
magazine as one of the benefits of being a member
Single memebership is from 40 to 60 dollars a year for a single
meembership and 50-70 dollars a year for a family membership the
difference in pricing is the choice in magazines you have

EAA, the Experimental Aircraft Association, is a growing and diverse
organization of members with a wide range of aviation interests and
backgrounds. EAA was founded in 1953 by a group of individuals in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who were interested in building their own
airplanes. Through the decades, the organization expanded its mission
to include antiques, classics, warbirds, aerobatic aircraft,
ultralights, helicopters and contemporary manufactured aircraft.

EAA has a serious museum and entertainment facility at the grounds in Oshkosh.
It's must see for any aviation enthusiast.

Stephen:
I have flown into Oshkosh several times. It has grown over the years into the
largest airshow in the World, if you disregard Paris, or so the advertising
goes. Sun N Fun in Lakeland, FL is the same group I believe. It's a beehive,
organized chaos. I'd like to try it in a motorhome. Let us know what you
decide.

Leroy there is quite a bit of interest. I'm going and I think Randy Dupree.
This is a once in a lifetime chance for me. It has always been one of the
things I wanted to see.

I know just about EAA to be dangearous; I have been there three times in a bird
and it has always been great. You need to decide if you require the full
generator section which allows 24-7 generator; other sections only allow you to
run until 10 p.m. You will need a bike or scooter to get to the main gate, then
it on foot. However there are tractor drawn trams that run all over Camp
Schuller (RV park) and down to the flight line and all exhibits. There are
buses that take you to sea plane base on lake Winnabago There are dump sites
when you depart but generally not otherwise. http://www.eaa.org has all details.

So far 13 coaches and I say coaches because some names of wives or
husbands. I alsodo not know if the respective families are coming so
I left it at coaches
I have also forwarded my list to Barbara Vaughn who will also be
inovolved with this She is one of the ladies who organized or kept in
check some of the activities at R.A.T.S and did an excellent job.
Iam hoping we can prevail on her to lend a hand with this venture also
