I will be curious to see your solution, as I have an 88 with a similar
intermitant step
problem .
One thing Ralph suggested was to remove the airlines by the step and shoot them
full
of a silicon lubricant. I did this once, and it did seem to help, but I did it
in sub zero
weather, and need to take another shot at it as i was so cold...i didnt do a
great job.
Another recomendation was to clip the wires that run to a weight sensor
directly
beneath the door and above the step. I guess this was an unnecessary saftey
feature
that can go bad and effect step opperations. Its intent was to keep the step
from
opening or closing when weight is on it.???
anyway ..please keep me informed as too your solution, as I wouldnt doubt our
same
vintage coaches have the same problem.....I will let you know if I get mine
working as
well.
ps I have dealt with a few other issues on my 88 that ii would be happy to
discuss..
1.overheating generator
2.oil leeks
3.throttle spring slippage
4. throtte position sensor....(controling transmisions ability to shift out of
park)
5..and many more.
