While getting my coach lubed the other day, I asked the tech if he
jacked up the front end to lube the king pins, and he responded, "if
you want us to do so", which I did and they didn't mind doing it.

MOST lube places do not routinely jack the front end to take the
weight off the wheels which is the ONLY correct way to lube the king
pins. Luckily the king pins can go a LONG time with very little or no
grease or we would all be in deep trouble.

If you lube you own, you need to remeber to do this as well. Although
you think grease is going into the zerk, little or none can be pressed
in with that much weight blocking it.

Thanks Paul, I always heard that was the proper procedure to lube those king
pins.

FWIW, in the groups file section, there is a folder labeled "BB King
Pin Lube Information" for a 1983 Wanderlodge. Scan0002.jpg has a note
that advises NOT to lift the front end of the vehicle when greasing the
king pins.
