I really enjoyed reading the TL article on DD's it was most informative. I made
copies of it and put it in the BB Bluebox for future reference. I have also

I'm looking at 1986-89 PT 'Birds and I noticed that a significant
number of the ads stated that the engine has recently had major work,
overhaul, etc. These are units with 90K thru 175K miles. Isn't the 8V92
more reliable than that? and how does the 4 speed Allison hold up.

Heavy duty diesel engines and consumers don't mix. Particularly if allowed to
sit for extended periods with no maintence of the cooling system. I shopped for
several years focusing on diesel pushers. I noticed a common tendency for most
of the vehicles to have oil pan drain plugs that looked like they had been
undisturbed, for a long time.
Anyhow, that's why many engine repairs are evident in diesel rvs.
