My jacks have worked fine for several months till today. Now they
swing down and start to lift, but they don't lift very far. All 4
jacks have the same symptoms. Tank is full, motor runs and there are
no leaks. When the jacks reach the point that they stop raising the
bus, the motor/pump sound changes pitch as though a relief valve is
opening. Anyone here have the same sympoms that can comment?

Thanks,

Call HWH in Moscow, Iowa. They provide great service and technical advise.

I had a similar problem, and eventually they quit lifting all
together. Needed a new motor. Replaced the motor/tank assembly with
HWH parts, now they work like new, will lift the bus entirely off the
ground. Wasn't terribly expensive. I did the switch myself...was a
bit frustrating at times, but not difficult. Just make sure you mark
which hose is which before you disconnect them.

You may also want to try changing out the solenoid strapped to the side
of the motor, but if the motor runs, I doubt that is it.

Thanks for the info Scott and Curt. Today, the jacks work fine.
Waiting for a return call from HWH to see what they say.

David,

Map Quest shows you are not far from the HWH factory in Moscow, Iowa.
Might want to consider driving over there, make an appointment first,
and have them check out your leveling system. They have 50 amp service,
provide customers a free lunch at a great restaurant, just a great place
to do business, and at a very reasonable price. The HWH owner joined us
for lunch the day I was there. He does not wear a suit, but he does wear
work cloths. Extremely nice person.

HWH spent about 1.5 hours on our Bird. They found the jacks to work as
they should. Only thing wrong was I had instructions that did not match
the jack controls in our coach. The provided me with the correct
instruction, and no charge for the instruction or their time. Here in
California, my area anyway, you will NEVER find that kind of customer
relations.

David,
Sounds like you may have had a pressure relief valve
that has a weak spring, or, a piece of debris got lodged
under the check ball for a period. Hydralic systems
typically have one somewhere to prevent damage. Pressure
once it reaches a pre-set maximum operating level overcomes
spring pressure and re-circulates through the pump. If
it was a piece of something it may never happen again.
