I'm starting a new thread that matches the subject matter.

My invoice has the new and the old numbers. Thermostat new 23503825 /
old 5102651, gasket new 5117786 / old 5117438, seal 5132155 / no ref. to
Old #.

The thermostats are 180 degrees. Cost $120.06 plus tax.

I haven't purchased the hoses. I like to take the old with me and do the
matching thing at the big truck parts store.

Under the bed in our coach is a spare length of hose, larger diameter,
blue color. Might be more back there. I recall seeing the one hose when
I had my head in that area cleaning out the water tank Sporlan valve.

How many miles should we get out of the 8V92 water pump?

Thanks Curt for the numbers. Did you get the parts at a DD store? I presume
that you did. 180 deg. sounds good to me.
Lucky you on the length of large diameter hose. Just hope that it is 3.5 inch
and is silicone. Remember though, there are several preformed 90 deg. elbows.
All of my silicon hoses "feel" and look good. My mechanic says they are ok for
now. But the small, short hoses on the engine feel hard and should be replaced.
Wouldn't you know, they are the hardest to get to. Will do them when I replace
the thermostats as that should be "easier".
I just paid some outrageous prices for the constant tension clamps. NAPA turned
out to be the best price by a bunch. They didn't stock all of them and their
supplier, Balkamp, didn't supply the larger clamps in that style. But he went
to an outside source and got Breeze Clamps at a better price than I paid at
Kenworth Northwest when I got in a hurry.
I have never heard how long a DD water pump should last. But, I think I'm
pushing it with 142,000 miles. No problems but makes me nervous.

Curt:
My water pump failed at 109,000 miles. One of the very few problems I have
incurred. I found it was leaking on a pre-trip inspection. The trip? Infield
at Daytona International Speedway prepaid one year earlier. There are no
refunds at NASCAR. Expensive water pump!
