I have two problems which I don't think are related. About two weeks
ago I moved my Bird to get ready for a trip. Everything seemed to be
working fine; engine, generator, ac. I left it alone for about a week,
then decided to hook it up to shore power.

1. I tried to start the generator. It cranked and began to start, but
then stalled out. I have not been able to get it started since.
Everything looks fine.

2. After the failure of the generator, I hooked up store power. Did
not hear the battery chargers humming. The breaker had switch the
system off. Reset it and it tripped the breaker in my barn. Sounds to
me like the chargers are shot or shorted out. Any suggestions?

Could be they ARE related, here's how. The genset has
a tremdous load at start by the short not enough to
trip the breaker but enough to keep from running.

You need to isolate the chargers, disconnect, or
whatever to get them out of the circuit. Starting
a generator with a heavy load before it reached
govenor speed is not good.

Thanks for the help. I spent part of Labor Day getting the coach ready
for our trip. I unplugged both chargers and pluged them in one at a
time. Sure enough, the second one blew the circuit breaker. Any
suggestion of new ones. Mine are the boilers

Have not had any luck with the generator yet, but I do not have a
manual or understand how the thing works. I have plenty of fuel.

Thanks again

Ha!, Ha!, Whoopee, great. Thanks for the feedback.
It's true, one of those queer acting chargers will
blow a fuse every time.

Look for the "Rob" report on the IOTA's, $380 not bad.
I have a Heart Freedom 2000, remote panel, like it a
lot.

Sid, maybe we could send some luck your way,
promise, we want get you into trouble, hopefully.
What kind of generator do you have? Gas, diesel?
What can you tell us about it and what you have done?
Let's Git-er-done!
