I talked with Doug Hampton at PMMI today regarding the modification to
the polarity lights in the outside power connection panel. I mentioned
our coach has the polarity lights in the galley panel as well. Doug said
both panels need to be modified to stop tripping the 15/20 amp GFIs. Per
Doug the galley panel modification is the same as the outside panel, but
is more difficult to do. Has anyone removed the galley panel? Any pointers?

Curt,

I removed the Galley Panel on my 87FC35 without any problem it is very
easy. I think about 6-8 screws to take the panel itself off, then a
few more to take the voltmeters off the panel, and a few electrical
connections (be sure to unplug the bus from any power sources first,
and it doesn't hurt to shut down the master 12V switches too).

The bad news - after replacing the polarity indicators in both the
galley and by the power cord inlet, I still trip the GFI outlets.

I'll have to troubleshoot that some more, maybe it is something else,
like the battery charger or something.

Thanks, Rick. I'll hang on to your post and others for when I get to
that project. I'm leaning toward sending the panels to PMMI for the mods.

I was tripping the GFI, and started pulling the covers
off electrical receptacles, and found a loose ground
wire in one in the bathroom. Tightened’r up and
haven’t had a trip since. (tripped breaker that is)
