I've had the Sam's Club 6v golf cart batteries in my BB since Feb, 2001
(Stowaway brand, Model GV2). Other than checking the water level about once a
month, and having a decent charging system (Progressive Dynamics Incorporated
chargers), the batteries show no signs of failure. I took out my Trojan
T105's (six of them) when they would no longer hold a charge.

I keep my BB plugged in to a 30a 110v circuit always, except when on the
road.

I'd buy the Sam's Club batteries again, and will, when the current ones go
south (unless someone can find the Trojans for less). Personally, with
batteries, I'll most likely go with the cheapest. (Sam's Club has a 1 yr
warranty
on these specific batteries).

Are the 6V batteries that are at Sams Club for like $46/each any good?

My Trojans are ALL dead - bettery shop confirmed that they failed a
load test after a 2 day charge.

They want like $60 each for replacements - which is fine if they are
justifiably better than the Sam's club ones for 25% cheaper.

I think I remember the Sam's club one being called "sportcraft" or
something like that and don't have a clue what the ones at the battery
shop were.

I've had two sets of the Sam's Club 6V batteries (Dunlop label) and
have gotten 3-4 years out of each set. And that's with the original
old "battery boiler" chargers (as some refer to them). I have heard
from folks that got over 5 years out of that brand of batteries with
good maintenance and newer charger systems. The biggest thing is good
maintenance to keep them "wet" (having the plates covered with
distilled water) and to clean the terminals when they get corroded.

The issue with Sam's Club is that they change brands frequently. All
my local store carried last December when I needed a new set was the
Interstate brand of batteries. I am interested in getting Cape's
(Stephen Birtles) automatic watering system for all the batteries on
the new Bird to take care of the water maintenance issues. I'll check
the cap style one of these days Stephen!
