Fellow Birders:

It is not my desire to offend anyone especially a fellow Birder.
However, I sense animosity on this site and others toward the
manufacturer of our wonderful coaches, primarily about parts pricing.
My experience with BB couldn't be better. I have experienced very
few problems with my coach. Bennie at BB has bent over backwards to
help me and has never sent me a bill. Electrical parts that I have
needed, purchased from BB are OEM or better and have worked when
installed. Without manufacturer support we are in trouble. It would
be like moving the AFB out of town. The economy would tank. If BB
has the part I need I will purchase it from them, and call upon
fellow Birders to do the same. MY theory----my time is worth
$150.00/hr, fuel is $3.00/gallon and I need BB's support. If BB
doesn't have your part I understand. If they do carry the part,
please buy from the manufacturer. I have no financial interest in
this statement.

As previously stated when this topic came up sometime ago we are
lucky to have factory support. We need to support he factory!!! My
other passion is restoring MG cars; see
http://groups.msn.com/midgetsprite/steve...snw?Page=1 for
current and future projects, secondary was Chris Craft boats. Call
Abingdon on Thames MG factory for help they are gone; call Chris
Craft in Algonac MI, same deal they are gone. We need Blue Bird to
be profitable and continue! If they are going to support our old
coaches then we need to buy parts from them.

Business only goes where there is a profit!!!!!

I think the value to the Bluebird Coach Works in supporting vintage
coaches is the ability to show new buyers the longevity of their
products. Much like Airstream, vintage units are still around and
still command a premium price as compared to other manufacturers. For
someone ready to spend a half a million dollars or more, resale value
should be a top priority. If Bluebird continues to support older
coaches, they will build a reputation that can only help their new
unit sales. I understand that it isn't cheap to maintain inventories
of parts and make representatives available for the limited number of
vintage owners who require support. But if Bluebird Coach Works looks
at the 'value add' of supporting older units, they could reap benefits
in the form of reputation and lower cost of ownership due to higher
resale value.
