When I open the drain valve on the bottom of my RaCor, nothing comes
out. Am I missing something? Or is it horribly clogged with bad stuff?

Help?

Hey Scott, I would take a "piece" of a coat hanger, or a small screw
driver and gently push up in the fuel drain with it OPEN of course and
drain fuel into a glass jar and see what comes out. Sometimes "stuff"
will settle. You should keep that open to check for water in the bottom
of the filter, by occaisionally draining it. Has it been stopped up for
a long time??

You might want to take the filter assembly apart and clean the bowl.
(make sure you put some kind of cap over the fuel line) so it does not
drain everywhere

Much to my suprise when I took the drain plug out of the FUEL TANK
NOTHING CAME OUT. A coat hanger, bent to swirl around and wwoooossshhhh
here came the fuel..so much for that shirt and I did put it in a gal
bucket...I drained about 3-4 gals to check.

Hey Scott, sorry I wasn't there when you did that, might have learned
a few new words, LOL.

Scott,
Mine was the same way and the wire and coat hanger didn't help.
I ended up taking mine apart and cleaning a ton of solid gunk out of
it, mostly rusty bits (big surprise).
If you can't see any water at the bottom of the glass bowl, this
is not an urgent matter, don't panic, it isn't that serious. IF, on
the other hand, you DO see a bunch of water, then worry. ;o)
I took the bowl out and cleaned it and when I poured more fuel
into the top, it rinsed a whole bunch more rusty bits out of the
middle of the Racor. I ended up taking the whole thing apart.
I'd suggest you set aside the time to do just that when you do it.
