I may have created myself a problem. After our last trip I drained the
remaining fresh water from the pure water tank and left the water pump
on. Not a good thing. Certainly not paying attention. I'm amazed that
it was still running this afternoon, 10 days later. My gut tells me to
remove the pump and bench test it. If the impeller fell apart I could
get black junk in my water system. Anyone out there done this. Please
tell me the result. If you do not want the whole world to know you may

If it's running, it may be O.K.. The first question I want an answer
to is: Why did you drain the water? Unless I suspect a problem with
my water, mine never gets drained. Never have had a problem with the
water.

The pump was running. I don't know why I drain the tank. Always have to prevent
stagnant water. Maybe it isn't necessary. We use the coach water while in
transit so the wife and grandkids can use the bathroom. I have established
procedures to include a "do not turn on tag" on the switch when the tank is
empty. I failed to follow my own procedures when I put the bus away. I'm
just happy I put the wheels down before landing.
Do you leave water in your fresh water tank for extended periods? We use our
coach quite often but are not full time.

Leroy, I drain the fresh water if it was filled with well water. I
feel better with city water in the tank, I think it is conditioned
for longer storage

I have had my current coach now for 5 years and have never completely
drained the fresh water tank. The coach rarely sits longer than a
couple months between outings. If you suspect the water is getting
bad, you will probably have an odor and you can treat the tank at that
time. Sure saves a lot of work.
