My step has decided not to work properly this summer. It pulls in, but
does not extend automatically. With Jay Darsts help we determined it
needs a new air valve. From old post I was able to get the grainger
part numbers and have all the new parts. The air side hook up of it, I
think I'm ok on. The electrical I'm a little confused on. The original
(I think) setup has four wires coming out of the valve. two go to
ground and two to a relay, that I can hear clicking when the door open
and shuts. The coils on the new valve have 3 wires each. So I've got
six wires. I'm sure two go to ground, but I'm still left with to many
wires. Any ideas?

I used those exact same parts on my step, works like a charm. If you
have any problems or questions drop me a line.

Ernie:

Have you looked to see if the mercury stitches are properly in
place. They are held in position with plastic pipe clamps. I had to
do them once because one of the switches was out of position. That
could be your whole problem.

Ernie. I replaced my step valve a couple of years ago with Grainger parts.

A2125D-012-D valve
2- 2G503 Valves
4ZJ85-1 Flow valve

You have to fudge a little on the valve mounting but it works fine.
