For those whose reaction is just to use air to blow out the hose, you
will see I tried something similar and need other ideas. Someone else
mentionesd that the "cups" might be deteriorating. Anyone have any
experience with that? or other ideas?

Thanks

Previoujs message with more info:

I just purchased a 1995 - 37 ft BMC. My rear air conditioner leaks
water through one of the top curbside cabinets next to the Bedroom TV.
Bluebird told me it is supposed to come out the red tubing which
exits down by the back wheels. (the front air does that through the
red tubing behind the front wheel). I tried to blow out the tubing
with water pressure from the bottom using a leaf nozzle and did get
water to come out the top of the bus, but a lot of it went back
through the cabinet. (bad idea, I should have used air pressure but
thought it may have been dirt daubers and needed moisture to dislodge
the obstruction if there was one). A later test of the reaar Air
Conditioner got a lot of water through the cabinet and only a tiny bit
down the tubing.

Since that didn't work, Bluebird says the red tubing in the back must
have become disconnected in some way and they say I need to take off
the plastic grate on the inside, remove the ceiling panel, and then
carefully cut a hone in the 4x8 sheet of plywood behind that ceiling
panel (with a circular saw set not to protrude through the plywood and
cut any wires, etc). Then find the end of the tubing and reconnect
it. That sounds like a bad way to go in my opinion. Because a very
small amount of water does come through the tubing, I thought perhaps
the cups they have installed around the air conditioner to divert the
water to the tubing may have become disturbed in some way. I thought
I might need to take the air conditioner off the top to fix that and
that may be a better way to go then the inside program. Has anyone
ever had a problem like this and if so, what is the best way to try to
fix it. Thanks in advance for any help

Lee,
Is draining the condensation through that tube something Bluebird added
or is that the way the AC unit was designed from the manufacturer? The
top covers are usually easy to remove. Remove the cover and do some
checking on top first.

If that does not help, I'd remove the AC unit and check some more.
Cutting that hole scares me.

Good luck

According to Bluebird they add cups of some sort under the air
conditioner to divert water into the red tubing which is the drain.
(I had a similar drain on an Airstrem trailer and it worked fine
unless it got stopped up and I'd then blow it out. this is obviously
some other problem). I agree that cutting the hole doesn't sound like
a good idea. I haven't taken the cover off yet. I don't have the
fancy ladder and aluminum walkways you Wanderlodge guys have so it's
not quite so easy. That's my next plan. A guy on the BMC forum had a
problem where a cup deteriorated causing the same problem so he
siliconed it and now all the water from the Air Conditioner comes down
the outside. I'm not done with this. It gets hot back in the
bedroom in 95 degree weather!

Thnaks,

Lee Davis
