Can anyone give me a ball park wholesale and average retail value of
2000 LX 40 with 26,000 miles on coach and drive line. Engin is a
Cummins M-11 450HP ISM with 6 speed Allison World Trans. Does the
Cummins have any impact on the value of the coach and how do they
measure up to the Detroits? What should I know about this year coach?
They do not seem to be holding their value like some of the older
models? Was there a change in the manufactoring or ownership that
impacts the value of the newer coaches? If so what year did that take
place? Any help or imput is great appreciated.

Hi Michael,

The LX is somewhat stripped down from the LXi, as
you know has a Cummins, versus the Detroit Series 60,
and some 2000 LX's do not have a slide, if I recall
correctly. Arguably, 75,000 less in used wholesale
market than comparably equipped LXi; however boils
down to whatever you can get it for. Look in the FMCA
magazine want-ad section for good guide to pricing.
NADA, etc. pricing isn't worth the paper written upon.

Hello John, Thank you, the one I am looking at does not have a slide. How much
does a slide add to value?

John I would strongly disagree with you. FMCA is not a good reference
for value. Many units that are advertised in the magazine are at least
30 % overpriced. Some of them have been for sale for years. They remain
unsold because the prices are unreasonable. Very few are ever sold at
anything near those asking prices. I am not referring to just BB's but
the private sales of all makes. I do agree that NADA means nothing.

Sure it does, just use the "rough condition" or loan value columns.
