I notice a lack of performace on my acs so I took out the filters which I clean
normally. no
different, so I look back into the air return its dark so I used my flash light
to see up close
and realized theres a sreen mesh inserted next to the cooling coils which were
completely
blocked with years of crud. now I can hang meat inside the BB, what a
difference.
I didn;t know the screens were there!

Guy,
Do you have the central air in the basement. Did you access these screens inside
the coach or in the basement. How many screens did you find. Do you think this
was a factory install item.

The basement air's are Cruise Air units. They are a split system, condenser
in the basement and the evaporator in the Coach. There are 3 of these
systems in the Coaches. The screens are original with the systems and are
important as it keeps dust/pet hair and the rest out of the coils. Or
rather helps to anyway. I removed mine, cleaned them then I did wrap tape
around the edges to help put them back in the proper place. Air flow keeps
the icing down of course so cleaning them is essential. The are charged
with R-22 and a little more fussy when servicing them but when done right,
you can hang meat in the Coach

Howard, on my cruise airs, my filters were way up inside the air cavity. You
can see them when you remove the first filter. Use a good flashlite.

Ralph,
I have replaced the square metal filters because the foam had deteriorated. Am I
to understand that there is another set of filters or screens in front of the
evaporators. Where do I find the evaporators and how do I access the filters at
the evaporators.
Thanks,

Howard:

When you open the return air grills with the wafered foam filters, look
deep inside and you will see the evaporator. In front of that coil there
should be a mesh screen that needs to be pulled, replaced or cleaned then
put back. This same screen will be on all 3 of your units.
