John

I just finished installing a McCullough 2000 watt portable generator,
in my trailer for use while dry camping to heat water or charge the 8
Trojan T-105 Golf cart batteries in my house battery bank. I
installed it in a way that will allow me to easily remove the
generator, if it is needed elsewhere. You can see my project at;

This portable generator will run under full load @ 13,5 amps for four
hours using one gallon of gas, so it will pay for itself in savings
after just a short while. It cost me $591.45 including shipping from
Sportsman's Guide, in Minnesota. At 64 db under full load it is not
as quiet as a Honda powered generator of the same size, but it is not
obnoxiously loud either, it is quieter than my Perkins Genset after I
did all of the modifications to it, so it is tolerable, at almost
half of the cost of a Honda.
