I am going to repaint my ramco mirrors and would like to know what the procedure
is removing them, are the motors in the mirror head? or are they elsewhere and
controlled with cables?
If the motors are in the head I would think there is a wire loom disconnect
somewhere close to the bracket mount.

Thanks in advance.

I had mine off my 89 SP & there was a plug just under the base that mounts on
the coach. Unplug it & then the wires will feed up through the arm & in to the
mirrors. Hope this helps. Ramco heat remote with motor in the head

Hi Fred,

The motors are in the head and there is a multiple wire cable that
goes from the controls to the head. Normally the pigtail that comes
from the head is "butt connected" to the main cable. Putting a plug
type disconnect would be unusual though possible. If you have to cut
the wires, be certain to note the color coding so you can put it back
the same.

Hi Fred,

We are departing Gila Bend on Monday heading for Wilderness Lakes TTN
for about ten days and then heading into Pomona for the FMCA
Convention. From there we are going to Las Vegas TTN for a couple of
weeks then up to Norcal for a rally and Dr.'s appointments. After the
grandson's wedding, heading north for the cool weather....

InVue,...ZONE DEFENSE accident avoidance systems...anyone made a purchase? Experience?

I received the aluminum (plastic no longer available) split shells (that's what I call them) from Ramco Engineering. They anchor the mirror head ball to the arm. Ramco shipped them at not cost to me. Installed the drivers side today. The mirror sits a little lower in the ball vs. the plastic split shells...guess this is good. Used PB Blaster and worked the two set screws out after several hours and playing with them. Coated the new shells with Anti-Seize, the set screws too, and all seems to be good.

Liz,
The first paragraph I was inquiring about that mirror. http://www.ramco-eng.com/InVue/InVue.htm .

The second paragraph I was reporting the fix to our mirror problem. Sorry for the confusion.
