If the '87 clearance light is the same as the '82, these are a direct
replacement, I put them on my old '82 FC.

I too have an 87FC35. I upgrade to the LEDs. As Ernie indicated, I
bought mine from Stephen Birtles. They fit the first time and Stephen
is really nice and a good resource.
I've done lots of work and maintenance on my Bird. Here's my number
if you ever need to talk to someone else with one like yours.
