I am listing the caterpillar part numbers for a filter assembly for
bendix air compressors, model tf-501 although this filter should fit
any bendix.This is a round filter with a replaceable dry element.
tell the parts man to look under model 3406 engine with 92U serial
number prefix.air compressor group 9N5447

the air cleaner assembly ncludes the element part number 9ll3690
the element is part number 9L2169, the mounting gasket is 8M-
7065,bolts 8L5922, lockwasher 3B4505.

some compressors intake comes through the air cleaner, when they get
mileage on them the turbo can pull oil from the compressor, if you
find oil on the intake side of the turbo this could be where it's
coming from. this filter draws air from the atmoshere.

That filter will not fit many of the FC models since there is not
enough clearance between the compressor and the mount to the left of
it. At least on my 1982 FC35 with the Cat 3208NA.

I beg to differ that filter may not SOME fc models but it is a good
fit for many and was standard fair for the tuflo 500 and most 501 the
square filter is very hard to find and the filter in it is crap foam
(lawn mower)
