On my FC, in between the entry door and the generator tray, there is
a small door that I have been told is where they put the gasoline
tank filler on models that came with a gas generator. Since my unit
came with a diesel gen, though, there is no gas filler...instead,
behind the door is a quick-release socket like that at the end of an
air hose (female end).

I assumed this was an auxillary air valve. Imagine my surprise when
I hooked my air hose and discovered that it is actually a connection
into the propane system. My questions are these:

1) Is this a factory feature? I can find no mention of it in any
manual in my blue box

2) Was there something in particular this connection was intended to
run? Some accessory that came with the coach maybe?

3) If I rig up a hose with a quick-connect end, would it be safe to
run propane accessories off this connection? (space heater, grill,
cooking burner, etc.)

Grille connection. I believe that the fitting was a Weber standard.
Might be in the manual, optional equipment in the back of the binder.

I'm not sure where the gasoline tank would be in an FC31/33 RB model,
but in the SB model it was behind the curbside drive wheel (just
ahead of the bumper, half-size storage ahead). Diesel genset was
standard on the FC35 Diesels (except WLII) so no fuel-flap. Probably
just for the grille.

Scott,

The propane connection was to hook up the outside cooking grill that
came with the Bird.

My 91 WL has the auxiliary LP quick connection and I have set it up to supply LP
through the regulators of our grills and our 'artificial' campfire we use when
tailgating at Hawkeye games. It is important to remember to cut of the LP
flow at the coach quick connect and let the remaining LP in the hose burn off at
the grill, this can take a bit more time than you would think, depending on the
length of hose you use. Otherwise, if you `quick disconnect' with LP in the
hose you have a substantial burst of LP gas coming out, which can be
dangerous.>>> >Roger Webb>>91 WBWL>>lace>Cedar Rapids, IAlace>--- In
