The other day i was running my genrator. after about 10 minutes it
shut off. water was coming out the radiator cap. i let it cool, added
water and about three hours later tested the unit. i was not sure if
the fan motor started righr away or ifit came on when a certain temp
was reached.i watched the temp gauge and shut it off when it got to
160 degrees.The fan motor never turned. i inspected the wiring and
found the wires come right off the L-1 and L-2 blocks, there are no
relays, switchs etc. both wires showed 120 volts on the terminal
board. I removed the cover on the motor and found one of the screws
holding the wires was loose. i could rotate the screw and the whole
thing was loose.I guess rust from old age . I started the gen and the
motor started rotating as soon as the gen came up to speed. I am
passing this along, I was lucky the hi water temp shut off sytem
worked. The wires checked good for continety
