For the folks headed to South Padre, highway 37 far south of San
Antonio goes down to one lane for construction for few miles. The sign
says narrow lane ahead - wide loads exit, and they are NOT kidding, so
slow down before you get there. About 6 inches per side between the
barriers in some spots!
There is some lighter construction on highway 77, but when you get to
Park Road 100 to come to South Padre, the exit is closed for
construction. So, as you pass through the construction zone south of
Harlingen, pay close attention looking *way ahead* for signs to South
Padre. When you see a sign for South Padre - conveniently located
about 100 yards *past* the exit you need to take - take that temporary
exit if you can and go down the access road to Park Road 100. If not,
you will have to go another mile or two south and then loop back
around to get to Park Road 100.
