We are getting ready to retire our 96 Ford Explorer with close to 200k
on it. We want to hear from people in this group about the Jeep
Liberty Diesel as a possible toad. I understand the engine is made by
Mercedes. We think we have to have a 4x4 so we can disconnect the
transmissions. Don't really have a need for 4x4 cability but guess
if we have to do a 4x4 to achieve it then so be it. If we can get
away with 2 wheel drive, I would be interested in it. I think that
Dan Darst is a Jeep Dealer. Where are you Dan, please contact me off
group with what you have and what you can do for me. We don't want a
gas burner. We want a diesel engine. We are using biodiesel in our
Dodge Ram 2500 and it works great but that is another story. I will
say, it cost me .95 cents a gallon if I discount my time and energy.
Sometime next year if we don't have any problems with our Dodge, we
will be running in our bird.
