Craig Schwartz

Hi,
I'm considering buying a 1974 FC31, and have a few questions
that someone might be able to answer for me:

a) the tank monitor display, mounted on the kitchenette wall,
does not show any indicator lights (on) giving the status of
the various tanks (water, grey, black). The "pump on" led is lit,
and the water pump on/off switch works. Water comes out of the faucet
when "on", and not when "off". Is this a problem ? is there
a switch somewhere else that needs to be thrown to enable the
tank usage readout ? Or is it perhaps that there is so little
water that, although it came out of the faucett, that not enough
is in any tank to register ? How might I diagnose this ?

b) what are the various tank capacities ?

c) Is it feasible to add additional propane storage , given
the amount of room avaialble underneath, and safety considerations ?

d) does anyone know the current loads of any of the various coach
electronics (a/c , refrigerator, exhaust fan, microwave ? I'd
like to see if I can reduce use of the generator by storing power
in batteries, and need to estimate my system power needs.

thanks,
Craig

Curt Sprenger

Graig,
I'll try to help.

Where are you located? To comply with the forum rules you should provide
that information. Thanks.

Tank monitor...each tank needs to be at least 1/4 full for the monitor
panel test or show other than empty.

Tanks capacities...fresh water 60/65 gal., waste and gray 40 gal. each.

Water pump switch...must be on for water to come out of the faucets.
Switch Off and no water out of the faucets is not a problem.

Adding propane is feasible. Most generators die from lack of maintenance
and the lack of frequent use.

Elec. loads...I can't help you with that one.

Hope this helps some.

Craig,
No problem.

Can I ask about the coach you are looking at? I sold a 1974 FC31 and I
believe the gal that bought it from me has it for sale. I can help you
with a lot of information if it is the coach I sold.
