Hi Everyone,
Has anyone removed the 7.5/8K Onan from a late model FC.
It appears to hangs from four long rod bolts.
Looks simple enough, but we all know how these jobs turn
into major projects. I want to replace insulation and
service the radiator, hoses and cooling motor.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hank,
Yep, you make sense.
I had the Bird in storage and was looking for ideas.
Now that it is home, it looks as you say, a steel platform and four
big bolts. The problem will be removing the rusty exhaust and
getting the motivation for a project. I may wait until next
Spring/Summer. Stephen is shipping the insulation.
I must first winterize the plumbing, change the oil, filters, and
squirt some grease into the chassis ( I hate that dirty job )
Going to change the propane detector, solenoid shut-off and propane
regulator. We had some intermittent propane pressure problems last
winter. 35 degrees this morning, Will use an additive and fill with
winter diesel. Still around $3.00/gal
THanks,
Bill 88 FC Michigan

mountain...happened in a parking in RENO...i had spare hose and was
