We would like to go to Mikes rally in Boerne. Perhaps I'll be ready to come
home from Montana- when my holding tanks are full and frozen~}O Ernie-83pt40

O.K. Everyone. Seems traffic is off. Could be a lot of reasons,
but I'd like to know what everyone is doing this fall and winter.
We might have some good mini-rallies if we are overlapping.

I know several folks are going to the RIV and the RATS rally. I am
going to Arches National Park and Ouray, CO for photo workshops. I
am leaving Sept 23rd, stopping in Santa Fe, NM for a day and then on
to Moab, UT. Our photo workshops are over on Oct 7th and departing
for home via Montrose, Gunnison, Salida, Pueblo,CO and Raton Pass,
NM, Amarillo and back to Dallas.

We will attend the Lone Star Birds Holiday gathering in Boerne, TX
headed up by Mike Bulriss in early December.

After that, we begin the new year with our annual run to Quartzsite,
AZ the last two weeks of January. We typically meet with a mixed RV
group out there but Blue Birds are sure welcome. If others will be
out there, I'd sure like to touch base with you.

Don't let the fuel prices keep you at bay. The real cost is only
the difference between what you were paying and the current. So if
you were buying fuel at $2.30/gal. and now at 2.70/gal. that's only
and additional $100 for 250 gallons. Letting your coach sit idle
will probably cost you more in repairs and depreciation.

GET OUT AND TRAVEL. ENJOY YOUR BIRDS.

Ron, your words about fuel cost are true and appropriate. You have given
yourself a full schedule and I am probably going to try and do the same. I
expect at least a good part of the winter to be spent on SPI in the coach; from
there is a item that has not been negotiated as yet. Have never been to
Quartzsite but I saw a TV program about it in the last few days and it looks
like an adventure; how are opportunities for big rig hookup? Wallace & Faye

Quartzite and dry camping are synonymous terms. Might get more crowded after
the hurricane, worlds biggest gravel parking lot.

I guess I'm getting old Wallace. What is SPI? By the way, it is
all dry camping at Quartzsite, but loads of fun. If you camp where
we do in the Bureau of Land Management land south of time at Tyson's
Wash, then you have access to a dump station accross the highway and
water to boot, so no real need to sweat it if you can't operate in
an economy mode. I make it all the way for at least 10 days self
contained. Have done 14. You just have to learn to take Navy
Showers and don't waste any water. Typically the holding tanks due
just fine.
