Hi

Hopefully some one can help me to go in the right direction. In my 2001 LXi I currently have a Dometic refrigerator. It works OK but I would rather have something with more features - frost free etc.
My research so far says the Samsung is the best way to go. I have several questions:
1-What current model would be the best?
2-How hard is the installation?
3-How pleased are you guys that made the conversion?
4- I was told I may have to remove the windshield to get the Samsung in the coach.
5- Does the working Dometic have any value.

I appreciate the help

Thanks

Hi Urnie,

1-What current model would be the best?
I think this depends completely on your space available, there are some very comprehensive threads on this on Gurus.
2-How hard is the installation?
It is not a weekend project, but can be done if you are handy.
3-How pleased are you guys that made the conversion?
Best upgrade we have done to the coach, the best!
4- I was told I may have to remove the windshield to get the Samsung in the coach.
Don't know.
5- Does the working Dometic have any value.
Not really.

4- no thru the door- remove copilot chair
5- 18 years old- if it has removable front panels- those maybe worth something, otherwise, junk it
Thanks Ernie
I will check the threads on Gurus.

My Dometic does have removable front wood panels. Any idea of possible value?

I will do some measuring to see how hard it would be to remove and install. The Samsung seems readily available so I should be able to remove the old - measure - and install.

When you installed your did you just use molding to keep in place or a few screws?

Thanks again for the help.

I helped a friend install it in his Lxi. He fastened it on top, bottom and rear thru the vent.
what made it "easy" was that we had it the same level as the stepwell slide, so that we could slide it in and up to clear the curve in the dash
