Next weekend, starting Friday afternoon until Sunday
morning, we're having a Bird rally in the parking lot
behind my auto shop. I've got a level acre of crushed
rock parking lot, zoned industrial with a 6 foot fence
around it. We can't bother a soul.
Steve Crown will be there with his 88 PT-40, 25th
anniversary edition, John Finn and I will have our early
80's FCs and Dave Heibult will have his 91 Wanderlodge
there, as well.
We'll be discussing any mechanical issues you'd like
to address, checking Steve's for water in the tank, maybe
even installing some new Bose speakers in it (if I can get
my chain saw started)....
I can get 2 Birds inside my shop if needed.
We'll evaluate shocks as John and I have both just
installed brand new shocks all around, Konis in front.
I'll be cooking the best steaks in the world, from
right here in Nebraska. Sweet corn is in season and we'll
get it fresh from the growers, they have pickup trucks all
over town.
We did this in May and played "Oooooh, I hate you". The
game is, we each give everyone a tour of our Birds and point
out all the neat features of them. When we see something really
neat, we all say, "ooooh, I hate you". ;o)
Each Bird (even mine) had something the others did not.
It was the most fun I've had for a long time.
Everybody's welcome, if you can't bring your Bird or
don't yet have one, there's a cheap motel a few blocks away.
