My water temperature gage has gone haywire. It never gets over 160*f. I use a Silverleaf engine monitor to watch my coolant temps so I don't depend on the analog gage. But I need to fix it as a backup coolant monitor. One never knows when the computer screen may go blank.

So, I've looked for the water temp sending unit on the engine and the only one I have found is plugged in to the side of the coolant tank above the engine.

Does anyone know if this is the water temp sending unit or is it just the coolant level monitor (CLLVL)? If this ain't it, where is it?
My LXi had two coolant temp sensors mounted on the head behind the turbo.[attachment=1749]

The shiny one is the DDEC ECM sensor; the one to the right is the dash gauge sensor. The DDEC ECM sensor is shiny because I replaced it.

On the way home from Kamloops CN, my H3's dash coolant gauge started to go whacky. I stopped in at Prevost in Goodlettsville, TN to have them replace the sensor. My H3's S60 has only one coolant temp sensor. The dash gauge uses the same sensor as the DDEC ECM. They do go bad. It's worked flawlessly since.
Thanks, David. I knew you knew Big Grin
