'New to me' is often an excuse to make a simple mistake and not just descriptive of ownership. In 2004 my new to me 1994 Wanderlodge had issues 50% were simply new owner ignorance, 25% were Past owner ignorance and the remaining 25% were mechanical issues. One practice I employ is recording all the changes I make in a ledger because they often are root or clues to other issues and make drastic changes to the assumed and documented bluebird blueprints. With the New to Me LXi my first plan is to learn the systems and review the changes. The records I got were simple maintenance oil changes and service which quite frankly mean very little to me. The PO of my LXi had a stack of repair receipts from ;bluebird factory in Ga,; mobile techs, ; to a complete new genset from power tec. I am concerned that changes were made and well intended improvements may be root causes to some issues with transfer and electrical issues.
Under the broken plastic door of my transfer switch is some aluminum shavings and a bunch of wire insulation splices. I need to learn the planned electrical path of my LXi and the hacks.

Looking for a description of the lxi transfer I found this forum thread and a bunch of different layouts between fc, wb, lxi, 450, and bmc models on the wog site.

I have installed the Surge Guard Plus also. It gives me a problem due to having a built in surge guard circuit which the OEM unit didn't have. It won't let the ACs run on both legs when using the generator due to the surge guarding. I visited the plant in FL to resolve this, but they can't fix it. It's inherent in the design. For now we're living with it.
OK ,I read your post and picked up the generic switch they sell at Campingworld. I looked it up online to post it here and find it is on sale for $95.00 off what I just paid http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/ite...itch/67274
I wonder if they make adjustments. crap.
I may buy a protection device for the bus but will install it only on the input from shore power and not use one device to coplete two processes. thanks for your post on this
I like your choice, I don't think this model was available when I needed one. This is the surge protector I have had since 09 and it was saved me several times, low voltage, high voltage, no ground, etc. They used to have a lifetime warranty:

More on the transfer switch. One caution I have with fixing issues on my bus is with replacing things. Re-engineering and inattentive (shotty) repairs in the past leave no trace of the design engineered intent.
I replaced the transfer switch on the bus and used the wanderlodge documents to rewire it with little issue other than a different location of the ground bar and a red wire that was and is tied to ground. ( I need to learn the purpose of this wire)
After removing the old transfer switch box I notices the guts have been replaced and found the receipt (2008, Florida, $1,152.) on the receipt another electronic relay was installed. I now think it is the Eaton in the pic because you can see sheet metal screws holding it in where BB used rivets. Of concern is the orientation. The documents are not definitive or I am not electrical savoy to determine the true intended orientation. since all the other appliances are upside down, should this be upside down also? it can be physically wired either way but I am not sure it works either way. You can wire it eitherway. the switch magnet gets excited by a tab that can be changed for either side. All is good and working.
