Yeah, I know and this is going to date me, but I remember when the Champagne edition Volkswagen Beetle new was $2,900.
Remember when they came out with the Rolls Royce hood, Ernie??? LOL.
Years later when our kids were young in kindergarten, we bought an used Vanagon for $1800. And 4 years later sold it for more than we had paid for it. We wash the interior and all the French fries out with a hose!
And good to go!
In the seventies, before we became a Honda family we were a Volkswagen family.
We had a 'Fastback' with a Porsche engine, and the square back station wagon which was named the lobster in High School. We had to push it and jump start the clutch to get it running every time. And it did without fail.
I still have a fondness for them.
Just look what the 19 windows and the truckagons are going for....
Even a new Jeep Wrangler, also with few amenities is going to set you back forty grand.
